Back in March of this year, Bandai Namco surprised fans of the
Sword Art Online series by revealing that they were working on
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris; the latest entry in the series of novels by Reki Kawahara and, much like the name appropriately suggests, based on the
Sword Art Online: Alicization anime series.
With the announcement, the developer also shared a gameplay trailer that gave players a better idea of what the game would look like; showing off the game's open-world, as well as some of the third-person action players should expect to find in it.
Bandai Namco did not reveal, however, exactly when the game would be releasing; that is, until now. Today, the developer has officially confirmed that
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lyrcoris will be launching for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(digital) on the
22nd of May in 2020.
With the release date announcement, Bandai namco also shared a brand-new gameplay trailer for
Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris, which gives us even more information about the game's plot — albeit without providing any spoilers, of course.
