Although nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, it looks like Larian Studios, the award-winning studio behind the critically acclaimed
Divinity: Original Sin II, is indeed working on
Baldur's Gate III.
The studio’s page has been updated with a logo pointing to the third entry of a yet-to-be-announced title – and while some fans believe that we're looking at a teaser for
Divinity: Original Sin III, the fact that the logo’s MP4 files feature multiple references to
Baldur’s Gate III (including the name of the PNG file) indicates clearly that the team at Larian is getting ready to reveal a sequel to
Baldur's Gate II.
As a reminder, Larian has already confirmed that their
Project Gustav is focused on
"systems, multiplayer, new things, new ideas," with the famous company’s employee revealing in November 2018 that Swen Vincke, the founder of Larian, had finalized the acquisition of the
Baldur’s Gate license.
Furthermore, Brian Fargo, the head of Interplay Entertainment and inXile Entertainment, has casually revealed that he knows which studio is developing
Baldur's Gate III a good while ago – and with E3 2019 on the horizon,
Baldur's Gate III's official announcement is just around the corner. Take a look:
