VAMPIRE: THE MASQUERADE – BLOODLINES 2 Officially Pushed Back To Late 2020
Remaining relatively silent since E3 2019, Hardsuit Labs has officially announced that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will no longer be launching during the first quarter of 2020. More past the jump.
It's been some time since we've heard any substantial news about Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, and thanks to a recent announcement from Hardsuit Labs, we may finally know why the game has remained relatively quiet since this past E3.
Originally expected to launch sometime during the first quarter of 2020, this announcement from the developer reveals that, while the sequel will still be released next year, the RPG is no longer scheduled to launch during Q1.
"For the last three and a half years, we’ve worked hard to bring you a worthy successor to Bloodlines 1,” the developer wrote, beginning to explain why the game has been delayed. "To us, that meant not only making good on the ambitions of this remarkable game, but also a duty to ensure we would not repeat its mistakes. Today, we have to tell you that we need some more time to get you the game you’ve been waiting for. Although Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will still launch in 2020, we have decided to value quality over making the Q1 launch window.”
Along with these comments, Hardsuit Labs also acknowledge that they made the decision in order to "avoid some of the issues that plagued the first game," which they admit was released to early.
In all, while this news will undoubtedly disappoint some fans, it sounds as if this move was the right one to make, as it means the developers will be able to devote more time to make sure Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is ready and at its best when it launches
