For the longest time, rumours doing the rounds online had been suggesting that Activision may have been working on a brand-new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game, and that said game would launch at some point in 2020. These rumours actually came from very trustworthy sources, but nothing was ever confirmed by the developers.
The first to mention a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game was professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto, in November of last year, saying that a new game was in the works and that she was going to be in it.
Professional skateboarder Jason Dill also spilled the beans — last week, actually — and also mentioned that a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game was releasing in 2020. Again, this is all but confirmed, since the developers had not officially made any announcements.
Today, Activision has officially announced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 — on Tony Hawk's birthday, no less — which is a remastered version of the iconic first two titles in the long-running series. The remaster is being developed by Vicarious Visions — the developer that also worked on remakes of the Crash Bandicoot and the Spyro trilogies — so players shouldn't worry about them delivering a top quality product.
According to the announcement, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic) on the 4th of September, and that pre-orders for the game will be available soon via the game's official website.
For those wondering about the games' iconic soundtracks, fret not! Activision and Vicarious Visions have confirmed that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will feature every single song from each of the original game's amazing soundtracks.
