A new rumor regarding Nintendo's pink puffball claims that a port of Kirby: Planet Robobot may be finding its way onto Nintendo Switch, and that the game may even be releasing rather sooner than later.

The information comes from purported leaker NatheTheHate, who responded to a user on X who asked, "So ignoring if February direct is coming or not that kirby port is coming nonetheless huh? I think you mentioned it in a podcast, " to which the leaker replied with, "Correct. Planet Robobot will find its way to Switch.

Upon being pressed for more information about the alleged port of Kirby: Planet Robobot — specifically in regards to a potential release window — the leaker then further asserted, "Only know it's slated for 2025.

As referenced by the X user, NateTheHate did previously claim that Nintendo had plans to release a port of Kirby: Planet Robobot on the Nintendo Switch. During an episode of his podcast, the leaker declared, "A game, that's one of my personal favorites, will be coming to the Nintendo switch in 2025, and that title is Kirby: Planet Robobot."

"It's a fantastic game; one of the best 3DS games ever released," he gushed, as he went on to lay out some of the reasons Nintendo could benefit from such type of releases, adding, "It's that type of title that I think Nintendo can continue to use as filler for the Switch in 2025; just to give people quality games to purchase."

He elaborated, "Whether they play it on their Switch or their Switch 2, it doesn't really matter. [Nintendo] want people to continue to buy games on the platform as a whole."

"And, as you release those games in the lead-up to Metroid Prime 4, you allow Switch owners to feel satisfied that, yes, new hardware is looming, but I'm still getting quality games," he concluded.

Often regarded as the best entry in the long-running platformer series, Kirby: Planet Robobot made its debut in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. In the game, players take control of Kirby, who can still swallow enemies and copy their abilities.

What makes the game stand out from past entries, is that Kirby also has the ability to take control of a mech suit that can even use of some of the abilities that Kirby himself can copy.
