In July of last year, Obsidian Entertainment surprised Nintendo fans by revealing that The Outer Worlds — a brand-new, and immersive role-playing game set in space — was making its way into the Nintendo Switch, and that it would be released following the launch of the game on other platforms.
The Outer Worlds was released for other platforms in October, and this is about the same time the game was confirmed to be releasing in 2020, although the developer still hadn't given players an official release date for the upcoming title.
Just in February of this year, however, Obsidian Entertainment announced that The Outer Worlds for the Nintendo Switch was being delayed indefinitely on account of the Coronavirus outbreak, and also letting fans know that the development team was ok.
Today, Obsidian Entertainment has some great news for players, as they have announced that The Outer Worlds will finally be releasing on the Nintendo Switch on the 5th of June, and that this date applies to both physical and digital copies of the sci-fi role-playing game.
Obsidian Entertainment has also confirmed that the game will be accompanied by a day one patch(6Gb) that will pretty much give players a better gaming experience; optimizing gameplay, providing additional hi-res rextures, and other fixes. So the developer encourages players to plan accordingly in order to have enough available space on their Nintendo Switch to make room for the update.
The Outer Worlds is a new single-player sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division. As you explore a space colony, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
The Outer Worlds will reelase for the Nintendo Switch on the 5th of June.
