Gris is a beautiful watercolour game, developed by Barcelona based independent developer Nomada Studio and published by Devolver Digital, that was released a few weeks ago in December of 2018.
Upon releasing,
Gris was met with nothing but critical praise; highlighting the game's gorgeous graphics, its beautiful story, and gameplay design overall. One of the things that
Gris has also going for it is the fact that it features absolutely no violence, making it an almost unique platforming experience.
Today,
Gris publisher Devolver Digital has shared a funny/sad post on their official Twitter account, claiming that the launch trailer ad for
Gris had been rejected by Facebook due to it containing a "sexually suggestive" scene. The image in question could not be any more family friendly, even if it tried, so it is funny to see that Facebook will allow a bunch of actually offensive content but ban a completely harmless ban.
Of course, Devolver Digital posted that almost making fun of the whole situation, especially sicne Gris is probably one of the most relaxing experiences players could have; not to mention one of the best-looking ones, as well.
The image is the one shared on Devolver Digital's tweet, and the launch trailer in question is the one posted below the tweet, so be sure to check them out:
Gris is a hopeful young girl lost in her own world, dealing with a painful experience in her life. Her journey through sorrow is manifested in her dress, which grants new abilities to better navigate her faded reality.
Gris is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
