After 15 years at Nintendo and 13 years as Chief Operating Officer, Reggie Fils-Aimé surprised us all when he announced his retirement back in February. The announcement was so out of the blue that some fans even worried his retirement may have been related to health isses; something both Reggie and Nintendo were quick to dismiss.

The fact that Reggie Fils-Aimé, the President of a video game company, even had fans goes to show how likeable he is as a person — which is one of the reasons fans were so sad to find out he was stepping down as President of Nintendo of America.

While the announcement was made in February, Reggie would not resign until the 15th of April and today Fils-Aimé has officially stepped down as Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo. And we have some great news for those who are still sad over his departure, as Reggie has officially joined social media today.

Today Reggie has created his first official Twitter account, and has shared a few pictures of him packing up his office and even sharing a piicture of of his badge from the 2004 E3; when he introduced himself and delivered this now-iconic line: "My name is Reggie, I'm about kicking ass, I'm about taking names, and we're about making games."
