Tarsier Studios, the developer behind the
Little Nightmares series, has been acquired by THQ Nordic parent company Embracer Group, as recently shared information has revealed.
According to Embracer co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Lars Wingefors, "
Together with Tarsier, we want to invest in developing new projects, in the same manner they have done successfully in the past… and take the studio to the next level."
Tarsier Studios is reported to have been acquired for SEK 88 million in cash and SEK 11 million in newly issued B-shares — amounting to $9.34 million and $1.17 million, respectively. As reported by
VideoGamesChronicle, this buyout also includes a conditional earnout for, at the very least, 10 years; meaning that .
Little Nightmares was initially released in April of 2017, with a brand-new mobile title released in May of this year.
Tarsier Studios is also currently working on Little Nightmares II, , which is still going to be published by
Little Nightmares and
Very Little Nightmares publisher Bandai Namco.
