Divinity: Original Sin 2 debuted first for PC and Larian Studios later worked on the arrival of their RPG to consoles under the name Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition.
Now that its game is already available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with some improvements, the studio believes that it was time to take the next step and start planning a new project.
Sven Vincke, founder of the company, confirmed that they do not plan to take a break after the release of Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition. This is because his goal is always to do new things.
Vincke highlighted the great work they have done with the RPG since its launch on PC. From their perspective, they made an enormous effort to perfect as much as possible the launch in consoles.
For Larian Studios, it was time to move on, they have given enough support to Divinity: Original Sin 2. Unfortunately, Vincke did not share details of what they are preparing.
“When you think about your lifecycle, you start counting how many [games] you can make. It’s not that many. That’s why we need to move on and make new stuff.” Vincke said during a meeting with PCGamesN.
