In
Days Gone, you will play as Deacon, a bounty hunter facing an uneven struggle for survival while desperately searching for a reason to live. The PS4 exclusive’s story picks up several years after the fatal outbreak of a deadly virus has ravaged the US (and possibly the rest of the world), changing its citizens into deadly Freakers, feral animals that have needs, habits, and behaviors that Deacon must adjust to.
IGN has released two brand new featurettes that give us a closer look at
Days Gone's core gameplay mechanics – including those that will help you in taking down hordes of Freakers. The second video also features a chaotic montage of all the most violent kills and deaths that were showcased at this year's PAX South. The first trailer is narrated by
Days Gone Lead Open World Designer Eric Jensen.
Days Gone was supposed to hit stores on February 22, 2019, but Bend Studio has recently decided to delay the release of the zombie sandbox from the insanely crowded February timeframe that includes potential sales hits such as
Anthem, Metro: Exodus, Crackdown 3, and
Trials Rising, as the game will now launch in April. In the meantime, be sure to check out two all-new
Days Gone trailers below:
At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love—and hope. It's about how, even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, hope never dies. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.
Days Gone will be available for PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
