In the last couple of weeks, we learned that in
Devil May Cry 5, Son of Sparda will have an opportunity to use a variety of clever weapons, from a deadly cap known as the Faust, named after one of the most intriguing bosses in
DMC4, to the return of classic weapons such as the Cavaliere bike, the Balrog (Dante's devil arm), and the Cerberus (returning from
Devil May Cry 3) with its three modes.
In a recent interview with Edge, Director Hideaki Itsuno had a chance to talk about the scrapped and unused concepts from the development stage of
Devil May Cry 5. According to Itsuno, one of abandoned concepts include a weapon Dante could figure-skate with in a true
Bayonetta fashion. That's not all, as it seems that Itsuno wants to introduce some crazy musical weapons to the game.
While the weapons for the base game are almost certainly all locked in by this point, there is a chance that the Nevan, a guitar-like weapon Dante used in
DMC3, will be available in
DMCV as a DLC. Itsuno still dreams of implementing a saxophone weapon into one his games, so maybe Capcom will give him enough freedom and credit to fulfil that wonderful, weird, and straight Japanese dream.
A new demonic invasion has begun with the seeds of a demon tree being sown in Red Grave City. Now fully equipped with his trusty Red Queen and Blue Rose, and a new arsenal of rad robot hands thanks to his partner Nico, Nero must rise up to this new impossible task. With such insane amount of energy and destruction emanating from this surprise invasion, the stage is now set for the latest chapter of the “Sons of Sparda” saga.
Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC March 8, 2019.
