Devil May Cry 5 is the long-awaited sequel in the Devil May Cry series, which has been on a pretty long hiatus since
Devil May Cry 4 released in 2008, and after all this time the game is almost ready and is expected to release on the
8th of March for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Picking up right were the series was left off at the end of
Devil May Cry 4, the new game will be bringing back Dante Son of Sparda and Nero as the main protagonists, as well as introducing us to Nico, who will be giving Dante and Nero a helping hand(quite literally in Nero's case) as the new arm prosthetics developer.
Recently Capcom has announced that they will be hosting a
Devil May Cry 5 panel at the Game Developers Conference in March of next year. The talk will be hosted by the game's director Hideaki Itsuno alongside producers Michiteru Okabe and Matt Walker discussing
Devil May Cry 5 and its development.
The statement released by Capcom this past Wednesday reads as follows:
"
In this Western talk, Capcom's Hideaki Itsuno, director of classic games including 'Power Stone 2', 'Dragon's Dogma', 'Rival Schools', and multiple titles in the 'Devil May Cry' series, partners with his colleagues Michiteru Okabe (senior producer) and Matt Walker (producer) to discuss the team's approach to making standout, impressive action games through the lens of 'Devil May Cry 5'. In this lecture, Itsuno will discuss how he works backward from a player experience and vision-based goal to build out compelling gameplay for the newest title in the 'Devil May Cry' franchise, and the visceral specifics that lead to a winning formula".
The Game Developers Conference will be taking place on the 18th of March throughout the 22nd at the Moscone Convention Centre in San Francisco, which is a couple of weeks after
Devil May Cry 5 is released.
A new demonic invasion has begun with the seeds of a demon tree being sown in Red Grave City. Now fully equipped with his trusty Red Queen and Blue Rose, and a new arsenal of rad robot hands thanks to his partner Nico, Nero must rise up to this new impossible task. With such insane amount of energy and destruction emanating from this surprise invasion, the stage is now set for the latest chapter of the “Sons of Sparda” saga.
Devil May Cry 5 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the 8th of March in 2019.
