Though Square Enix is yet to confirm that the upcoming and highly anticipated remake of
Final Fantasy VII will get a demo; we're certain that a
Final Fantasy VII Remake demo will debut online sometime prior to the game's official launch due to countless leaks —
which you can find out more about here.
We know that the demo will be about an hour in length and consist of the first bombing run. You'll play as Cloud Strife and join Barrett as he attempts to blow up one of Shinra's power plants. Recently, many reports surfaced which claimed that the demo will be made public on March 3rd alongside the release of the full game.
However, it turns out that this is just a widespread misconception as the source of the rumour has now admitted that it was an assumption and a mistake. As you can see below,
Gamespot's Tamoor Hussain admits that the supposed leak emerged on account of an editor's misunderstanding. Thus, the sought after
Final Fantasy VII Remake demo won't be releasing on March 3rd.
In Midgar, a city controlled by the mega-conglomerate Shinra Inc., the No. 1 Mako Reactor has been blown up by a rebel group, AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE was secretly formed to wage a rebellion against Shinra Inc., an organisation which is absorbing Mako energy, destroying the natural resources of the planet. Cloud, a former member of Shinra's elite combat force, SOLDIER, was involved with the bombing of the Mako Reactor. Can Cloud and AVALANCHE protect the planet from the huge, formidable enemy, Shinra Inc.?
Final Fantasy VII Remake will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from March 3rd, 2020.
