Inti Creates'
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX was announced during last year's BitSummit in Kyoto, Japan, for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam; continuing the story from the acclaimed
Azure Striker Gunvolt series.
Unlike the games in the
Azure Striker Gunvolt series,
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX actually focuses on Copen, who was one of the antagonists/anti heroes in the first game, and was given a campaign as playable character in the sequel.
Copen's story in
Luminous Avenger iX picks up right after the events of
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, and features pretty much the same fast-paced 2D action/platformer gameplay the
Gunvolt series is well-known for.
Since it's announcement last year, we've barely had any updates on the state of the project, but today — thanks to the people over GameXplain — we got some off-screen gameplay footage for
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, and it looks pretty much like we would've expected; fast-paced 2D action at its finest.

Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX still doesn't have an official release date.
