Playtonic and Team17 announced, a few days before this year's E3, a brand-new game, and direct sequel, in the Yooka-Laylee series; this time taking the duo on a 2D adventure much more akin to those from Nintendo and Retro Studios' critically acclaimed Donkey Kong Country Returns series.

Today we have great news for fans of the Yooka-Laylee series, as Playtonic has just confirmed that, much like its predecessor, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will also be getting a physical release at retailers; including the Nintendo Switch version.

While we still don't know exactly when is Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair releasing, it is definitely reassuring to know tht it will be getting a physical release — especially for Nintendo Switch owners, since the game did not get a physical release until just recently; although it is currently the best packaged version out there, mainly due to it being a limited edition that includes a bunch of colelctibles.

Rescue Queen Phoebee’s Royal Beettalion Guard and prepare to take on Capital B’s most dastardly challenge yet in this brand new platforming adventure hybrid!Yooka and Laylee must combine their abilities to take on a series of challenging and vibrant side-scrolling levels, as well as explore and solve puzzles in the beautiful overworld.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam in 2019.
