Jim Carrey Name-Drops The SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Movie During A Skit At The Golden Globes
Jim Carrey, who will be playing Dr. Eggman in the Sonic The Hedgehog movie, recently attending the Golden Globes wherein he mentions the upcoming film during a skit. Check it out...
The Sonic The Hedgehog movie will be releasing near the end of this year and one of its stars recently made that abundantly clear during a skit at the Golden Globes awards show.
Jim Carrey will star in the Sonic movie as none other than the titular speedsters arch-nemesis Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik) - to get an idea of what he might look like in-character, check out this recent fan-art. Carrey attended last night's Golden Globe awards, representing the TV show Kidding. This was the premise of the skit.
The amusing portion of the show basically involved Carrey being ejected from the higher-tier movie section of the awards show to the TV section - by none other than Andy Samberg, who a recent leak revealed was up for the role of Sonic (perhaps that's why Samberg was so harsh on Carrey during the show - almost playing his nemesis n' all).
Within this segment of the show Carrey outright name-drops the Sonic film in effort to persuade the hosts that the movie section is where he belongs - inadvertantly revealing that he's finished up with the project; “I just finished a film, it’s called Sonic the Hedgehog, comes out in November!”.
Samberg then jokes back "Well, you know, come back next year. I’m sure it’ll be nominated." You can watch the skit play in the tweet (@accessonline) below:
What do you think of Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik? Are you looking forward to the Sonic The Hedgehog movie?
Sonic The Hedgehog is set to race in theatres on November 8th, 2019.
