Grand Theft Auto 6 was finally officially announced by Rockstar Games earlier this year, but the company has yet to reveal any official details. Common sense says they've been hard at work on the title for some time, and with the many complexities surrounding modern games, you have to believe Rockstar wants to get this thing just right rather than delivering a Cyberpunk 2077!
Now, a very interesting rumour is doing the rounds that hints at the sheer scale of GTA 6. A Twitter user, Matheusvictorbr, with a fairly reliable track record of GTA scoops claims we'll be spending time in Vice City and Liberty City (the franchise's take on Miami and New York City).
Carcer City, the setting of Rockstar Games' Manhunt, is also expected to be a key part of the game. Believed to be adjacent to Liberty City, it's likely GTA's take on a Rust Belt city. This rumour also suggests we'll go international with at least part of the game set in Cuba. If true, this sixth instalment promises to be the most ambitious chapter in this franchise to date, taking full advantage of the capabilities of next-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
In related news, the same leaker claims the screenshot below (first discovered in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition) is indeed the first screenshot from GTA 6. Thought to be inspired by Hollywood, Florida, a city in Miami, there's no denying this looks incredibly impressive.
