Back in February of this year, Adult Swim announced that they had teamed up with developer Soleil in order to produce a game based on the popular Samurai Jack series, and that the game was expected to launch for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC at some point this summer.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is an action game that sees players taking the role of Jack and fighting their way through time in order to defeat series' main villain Aku — which sounds like a proper story worthy of the show.

As a matter of fact, the story is actually being penned by Samurai Jack series head writer Darrick Bachman, so players should expect the same level of quality from Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time; in and of itself, some great news for long-time fans of the iconic series.

While the game was announced earlier this year, the developer didn't reveal when exactly was it that Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time would be released; that is until today, as they have released a brand-new trailer that finally reveals that Samurai Jack's new adventurew will be hitting store shelves on Friday the 21st of August.

Check it out:

Become Samurai Jack, the greatest warrior of the past, present and future. Journey through time to finally stop Aku’s evil reign in this new adventure told by the creators of Samurai Jack. Encounter your favorite characters from the show including The Scotsman, Scaramouche, Sir Rothchild and more!

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is expected to release for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Steam, Epic) on Friday the 21st of August.
