Death Stranding released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on November 8th, 2019. This was after a lengthy period of hype that began when the bizarre game was first revealed in 2016. For a long while, it was thought that
Death Stranding would be yet another PlayStation 4 exclusive. However, shortly before the game's release it was announced that it will be coming to PC in Summer 2020.
However, we weren't sure of a precise release date for the PC port — until now! 505 Games has announced (via
@505_Games) that
Death Stranding will be coming to PC on June 2nd, 2020. That's exactly three months from now. On that day, Death Stranding will go live on Steam and Epic Games Store.
What's more; 505 Games teased some of the features that the PC version will include. There's a new Photo Mode (that will seemingly be exclusive to the PC release), high frame rate, ultra-wide monitor support & content from
Valve’s Half-Life. On the topic of that last one, it's said that you can get your hands on some in-game items (as well as HD wallpapers) by pre-purchasing.
Accompanying the announcement is a promotional video which shows off some of the aforementioned, new stuff. We can see Sam kitted out with gloves from
Half-Life: Alyx, Gordon Freeman's glasses, and a literal protruding from the back of his head — evoking Valve's logo. We can also see the Photo Mode in action and much more. Check it out below:
