Square Enix has finally announced a release date for
Battalion 1944's full version – May 23, 2019.
Battalion 1944 has been in Steam Early Access since February 1st, giving all interested players a chance to test the first-person shooter before its (hopefully) big debut. "
Early Access hasn’t been an easy ride - we knew it never would be. However - full release will be a turning point for Battalion 1944," the development team at Bulkhead Interactive explained on the game's Steam page. "
With the game being more stable and fun than ever - we cannot wait to see you on the servers again at full release."
The developer will also launch a special update accompanying the full release, introducing players to the Russian faction and the Eastern Front, featuring three snow-covered maps (Vanguard, Docks, and Goldrush) and nine new weapons (PPSh-41 Drum Magazine, SVT-40, Baikal 21 Double Barrel Shotgun, PPS-43 Stick Magazine, Fedorov Avtomat, Mosin Nagant, Mosin Nagant Scoped, TT-33, and RGD-33).
While
Battalion hasn't even launched yet, Bulkhead is already working on the console port of the shooter and a never-before-seen project that will be published under the Square Enix Collective label.
Be sure to take a closer look at Bulkhead Interactive's take on war shooters in the trailer down below:
Battalion recaptures the core of classic competitive shooters & refines the ‘classic’ FPS feel for the next generation. Focusing on 5v5 infantry combat, where precise flick shots with your Kar98, covering fire with your Thompson and fluid movement are key to clutching every round for your team. Strike with speed, strength and precision as Battalion’s swift and smooth infantry combat paves the way for a skill ceiling competitive gamers will die for. You won’t find any airstrikes, attack dogs or overpowered god guns here. In Battalion 1944, you, your skill and your rifle reign supreme.
Battalion 1944 is coming to PC on May 23rd, releasing for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.
