S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was officially announced nearly a year ago, but we still know next to nothing about the upcoming sequel. While the game won't be released anytime soon (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is still coming in 2021, at least according to developer GSC Game World), there's a rather big chance that we will learn more about the sequel to 2007's classic S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl in the foreseeable future.

As revealed by GSC Game World on their Twitter, they are getting ready to "share news and interesting content," suggesting that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be showcased soon (maybe even during this year's E3).

The renowned Ukrainian creators of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky have also shared online an all-new key art for the long-awaited sequel, putting the spotlight on the fallen world of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station and a lone hero facing the terrible situation. Considering that the last entry in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, Call of Pripyat, hit stores a decade ago, it will definitely be interesting to see how GSC Game World's upcoming title compares to modern survival shooters, like Fear the Wolves and The Forest.

In the meantime, be sure to take a closer look at the aforementioned S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 artwork below:
