Some PlayStation 4 players have been having a rough time when playing the newly released
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, mainly because of an issue that has been currupting their save files; completely losing all of their progress due to a bug.
Activision has recently announced that they are aware of this issue, and are currently working on a new update that will be fixing the save data corruption problem for PlayStation 4 players. This update is set to go live on the
3rd of July, and will also be adding the game's first Grand Prix.
According to the reports by players, the save data corruption issue happened when ghost race data in Time Trials became too large. Until the patch goes live in just a few more days, Activision recommends that players stay away from Time Trials in order to keep their save file intact.
Activision also reminds players that this issue only affects PlayStation 4 users, and that no cases of corrupted issues have been reported for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions of the game; suggesting PlayStation 4 players to backup their save file on an external storage device or save it to the cloud — although the latter is only available for PlayStation 4 Plus subscribers.
