Activision announced today, during the PlayStation State of Play live stream, that
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will be including some exclusive retro content on the PlayStation 4 — which will see some of the characters getting those low-polygon models from the original
Crash Team Racing.
This retro content for
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled includes retro skins for Crash, his sister Coco, and Cortex — as well as some retro karts, and a retro track. As if that wasn't enough, the game will also feature tracks, karts, arenas, and battle modes from
Crash Nitro Kart.
While all of the retro content is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, the
Crash Nitro Kart tracks will be available on all of the other platforms — namely the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One — as well as the PlayStation 4. The exclusive content is, more than likely, due to the original game being a PlayStation 1 exclusive title, so it is understandable to have Activision giving Sony's platform some exclusivity.
Alongside the announcements, Activision also released a fantastic new trailer for
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled that gives us a look at the retro skins, and some of the game's modes.
