Artefacts Studios and Microids recently announced (via
Toonado) an upcoming video game based on the popular comic strip character of Garfield. This game will be a kart racer akin to
Mario Kart,
Team Sonic Racing, and the like. It's name:
Garfield Kart: Furious Racing.
According to Microids' announcement tweet (
@Microids_off), Garfield Kart: Furious Racing will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch later this year — one November 5th specifically. It'll be interesting to see this and Hideo Kojima's
Death Stranding battle it out to be the best-selling game of that date.
Though we don't have an official trailer for the upcoming racing game, we do have some screenshots which show it in action. You can check those out below (attached to the aformentioned tweet).
Apparently, the game will include a Grand Prix mode, single race mode, and time trial mode. It can be played in singleplayer on multiplayer via split-screen or online play. The former multiplayer mode supports up to four players whereas the latter can include eight. It's said that there are sixteen tracks and eight playable characters included in
Garfield Kart: Furious Racing.
Garfield, the famous lasagna-loving Cat is back to take on Jon, Odie, and company in a no-holds-barred racing game. Choose your character and kart according to their characteristics and your driving style, get off the starting line first, and control skids to outrun your opponents. Use crazy bonus objects, like the pillow or the magic wand, to gain an edge and get over the finishing line first. Are you lazy like Garfield? Take shortcuts to overtake the other racers with the spring! Race your friends in local or online modes, with up to eight players on 16 iconic circuits from the world of Garfield.
Garfield Kart: Furious Racing will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 5th, 2019.
