General Manager of Criterion Games Matt Webster has recently shared some very exciting news for fans of Need for Speed, particularly those who have been enjoying the latest entry in the long-running series, Need for Speed Heat, as the game will soon be supporting cross-play.
As revealed by an entry on Electronic Arts' official blog, Criterion Games' Matt Webster has revealed that Need for Speed Heat will be getting a free update that will add cross-play to the game as soon as Tuesday the 9th of June.
Once the update becomes available tomorrow, Need for Speed Heat will officially become the very first Electronic Arts game to offer crossplay to its players. Be it PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC(Steam, Origin), everybody will be able to enjoy this game with their friends; even if they don't own the same platform.
The best part is yet to come, as Webster also announced that this will be the last update that Need for Speed Heat will be getting, as he confirmed that Criterion Games is currently working on a brand-new Need for Speed title — although not much information about this new game was not revealed.
Webster mentions that the developers at Criterion have been listening to fans, and all of the feedback they have collected will go into this mysterious new Need for Speed game — so we will have to keep waiting to see where the series will be taking players next.
