When Blizzard Entertainment unveiled
the full schedule for their annual event earlier this week, and it featured some time slots that weren't detailed, many speculated that both or either
Diablo IV and
Overwatch 2 would be announced. Turns out that it's both —
find out more about Overwatch 2 here.
Similar to the
Overwatch sequel,
Diablo IV was announced with an animated cinematic as well as a gameplay trailer — the former being pretty gruesome and the latter being pretty epic. It's said that
Diablo IV will release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC but a precise launch date wasn't announced.
"Diablo IV is the newest incarnation of the genre defining ARPG players have come to know and love. Hellish new features, brutal challenges, and an indisputable return to darkness lie at the core of our hard work. Take a glimpse into the terror that awaits," reads an official description of the highly anticipated sequel.
As for the store of
Diablo IV, it apparently takes place multiple years after the events of the last instalment,
"after millions have been slaughtered by the actions of the High Heavens and Burning Hells alike. In the vacuum of power, a legendary name resurfaces.”
