Released in December of last year, and featuring over 70 characters from several iconic video game series like
Metal Gear Solid,
Castlevania, and
Sonic the Hedgehog,
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been a massive hit pretty much since day one.
Nintendo has recently revealed in their Top Selling Title Sales Units that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had sold an incredible 13.81 million copies world wide, which already outsells
Super Smash Bros. Brawl's worldwide sales of 13.30 million units.
Back in December, and after a bit over one week after the game's release,
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had become the
fastest-selling Nintendo home console title of all time in Europe. This was after the game had already broken a few other sales records like becoming the
best pre-selling title on the Nintendo Switch, as well as the best pre-selling title in the Super Smash Bros. series.
Not to mention that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had also become the
best-selling video game on Amazon, the
fastest-selling title in the history of the Super Smash Bros. series in the UK, and
had also managed to sell an impressive 1.3 million copies only one week after its release in Japan.
With all of the records the game was breaking, it was only a matter of time until something as big as becoming the best-selling fighting game of all time happened. This is, however, an impressive feat not to be taken lightly, especially considering that
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has only been out for less than 5 months.
Legendary game worlds and fighters collide in the ultimate showdown—a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Nintendo Switch system! New fighters, like Inkling from the Splatoon series and Ridley from the Metroid series, make their Super Smash Bros. series debut alongside every Super Smash Bros. fighter in the series…EVER!
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
