The creators of the
Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator from Brilliant Game Studios have announced
The Black Masses will be their next big thing. At its core,
The Black Masses is described as an "
open world first-person fantasy co-op RPG," but the studio is planning to differentiate
Masses from
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 by introducing an island populated by hundreds of thousands of possessed inhabitants.
Those "
possessed inhabitants" are basically hordes of demonic zombies, and just like in
Dying Light, avoiding them will be easier than trying to kill the undead (but the title will give you a chance to hurt them with dark magic and special abilities), as Brilliant Game promises
The Black Masses will feature an advanced parkour system that will allow you to traverse medieval buildings and other obstacles.
Brilliant Game Studios have shared a special 10-minute-long pre-alpha gameplay footage spotlighting the corrupted world and the titular
Black Masses. Fans of Ubisoft's forgotten
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and
The Elder Scrolls series should feel at home, as the upcoming Steam exclusive features familiar gameplay mechanics and settings. If you’re not tired of zombies, be sure to check it out below:
The Black Masses is an open world first-person fantasy co-op RPG. The Black Masses features our next generation of crowd rendering technology rebuilt from Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator. Explore a 16 square kilometer island populated by hundreds of thousands of possessed inhabitants. Escape the hordes by traversing buildings and obstacles with our parkour system, or face them head on with powerful abilities and immersive first person combat.
The Black Masses is coming to Steam early access in 2019.
