Crysis Remastered has caused quite the stir amongst fans of the Crysis series. Many didn't believe a remaster of one of the most graphically demanding video games would even be possible, while others were excited to see what the developers ar Crytek could do to push the game's graphics even further.
Crytek revealed that the first gameplay trailer for Crysis Remastered would be revealed on the 1st of July, so players were obviously ecstatic to see this enhanced version of the original Crysis. Unfortunately, the trailer was leaked the night before Crytek officially released it, and it was a disaster.
As per the leaked trailer, Crysis Remastered looked pretty much the same as the original did. Fans complained that there were barely any changes made that enhanced the experience from a graphics standpoint, and they were right; the trailer was quite a letdown.
Crytek was quick to address the issue, and revealed that Crysis Remastered was being pushed back. While the developer never officially revealed the game's release date, an official listing on Microsoft's website revealed that the game was supposed to launch on the 23rd of July.
As it turns out, that release date has now been made official by Crytek, although the developer reveals that it is the Nintendo Switch version of Crysis Remastered the one launching on Thursday the 23rd of July; no informatio nabout the other versions of the game was revealed, though.
Now that the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been officially revealed to release in two weeks, it is very likely that the trailer we saw featured gameplay from that version of Crysis Remastered — which makes sense, considering that it is the less powerful platform of the ones the game will be releasing on.
Whatever the case, we'll still have to keep waiting for more official announcements regarding the other versions of Crysis Remastered. This is still great news for Nintendo Switch owners, who will soon be able to play this timeless classic on the go.
