Last week, reports surfaced that Marvel was ending its relationship with developer Gazillion Entertainment, resulting in the game Marvel Heroes shutting down. Now we've learned that the developers employed at the studio were all officially let go yesterday - the day before Thanksgiving. It's never a good time to be laid off from your job, but the holiday season probably ranks as one of the worst.

Making matters worse, a termination letter written by Gazillion CEO Dave Dohrmann leaked to MassivelyOP, confirming the "renege of benefits including PTO [paid time off]." This was supported by former employees expressing their frustration on social media.
It was also explained in the letter, "banking creditors have effectively pulled the plug on the company, leading to the termination of almost every employee at the studio."

Although a note on the Marvel Heroes website says the game will stay on until Dec 31, 2017, the actual developers claim the action-RPG will actually shut down on PC and consoles tomorrow, Friday, November 24th.
