Just like in Saber Interactive's
World War Z (launching April 16th),
Days Gone will give you a unique opportunity to find a way to survive in the wake of a huge zombie outburst with hundreds of monsters trying to hunt you down. While both titles may seem pretty similar, the devil is in the detail, as Bend Studio has worked really hard for a long time to distinguish themselves from the competition.
In
Days Gone, the zombies are not completely braindead, as they have their own behaviors, habits, and daily routines that the main protagonist Deacon St. John will have to adjust to in order to survive.
Thankfully, those enemies will definitely not be among the smartest ones, so you will have many in-game chances to use the hungry army against your human opponents, forcing those two groups to fight each other while you're scavenging for resources or taking the more prominent figures down.
Be sure to take a look at Bend Studio's thought process behind designing the undead in this video:
At its core, Days Gone is about survivors and what makes them human: desperation, loss, madness, betrayal, friendship, brotherhood, regret, love—and hope. It's about how, even when confronted with such enormous tragedy, hope never dies. Play as Deacon St. John, a bounty hunter facing a brutal struggle for survival while searching for a reason to live.
Days Gone will be available for PlayStation 4 on April 26, 2019.
