For the first time in the slasher series,
Devil May Cry 5 will give you a chance to control not one, not two, but three different (anti)heroes. Naturally, the first one is Dante, the central protagonist of the
Devil May Cry franchise, but he won't be alone, as Nero, who debuted in
Devil May Cry 4, will also return. Unfortunately, his demon arm won't, as the hero will lose it during
DMC5's beginning.
The third playable character, dark-haired "V" is still a big unknown. Actually, the only thing we know about him is that his nickname is not his real name. Many fans thought that "V" is an acronym for "Vergil," Dante' biological brother and the main antagonist of the series. Unfortunately, the fact that Capcom has recently revealed that Nero is actually Vergil's son makes us doubt that particular theory.
Director Hideaki Itsuno has confirmed on his Twitter page that we will learn much more about "V" before the end of the year. It could possibly mean that we may get a new trailer at the upcoming Microsoft's X018 expo (starting November 10) or this year's The Game Awards (December 6). Dropping a V-focused trailer out of nowhere is also a possibility, so let's patiently wait for Capcom's next move.
A new demonic invasion has begun with the seeds of a demon tree being sown in Red Grave City. Now fully equipped with his trusty Red Queen and Blue Rose, and a new arsenal of rad robot hands thanks to his partner Nico, Nero must rise up to this new impossible task. With such insane amount of energy and destruction emanating from this surprise invasion, the stage is now set for the latest chapter of the “Sons of Sparda” saga.
Devil May Cry 5 is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC March 8, 2019.
