Copen, one of the main characters in Inti Creates'
Azure Striker Gunvolt series, is getting his own game in
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avengers iX, for the Nintendo Switch. The game was revealed at the BitSummit 2018 in Kyoto, Japan, and is announced to be currently in development.
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX focuses on Copen, who was first introduced in the first
Azure Striker Gunvolt game as one of the main mysterious antagonists that wasn't a member of the Sumeragi Group. Copen is one of the characters that is hunting Adepts, like Gunvolt, since he believes them to be dangerous. Thanks to his skills as a combatant and being a brilliant scientist, he is as formidable as he is dangerous, making him a threat to all Adepts.
Although introduced in the first
Azure Striker Gunvolt, he was not playable until the sequel, where more details about his backstory were revealed, making him a fan-favourite pretty much since his first appearance. Now he's getting his own solo adventure in
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, which seems to have kept most of the gameplay mechanics from both
Azure Striker Gunvolt games, maintaining his signature moves like air dashing and being able to copy his enemies' abilities.
Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX was only announced to be early in development but still has no release date. What we do know is that the game seems to be developed as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, which isn't at all that surprising given that
Azure Striker Gunvolt, and its sequel, are also exclusive to Nintendo consoles and Steam, so be on the lookout for more details about the game.
