In March of last year, Microsoft and Studio MDHR took everyone by surprise, as they announced that the critically acclaimed run 'n' gun Cuphead was making its way into the Nintendo Switch — and the news was quite huge at the time.
Microsoft and Nintendo had been amiably collaborating at the time — in fact, they still are — and Cuphead releasing on the Switch was one of the many Microsoft-exclusive titles that would eventually release for the popular handheld hybrid console.
Cuphead was finally released on the 18th of April of last year, and Studio MDHR is currently celebrating the anniversary of the game's release on the Nintendo Switch. For this reason, the developer has announced that they will be giving away free codes for the game on the Switch.
In order to participate, players need to follow Studio MDHR's official Twitter account(@StudioMDHR) and share their favourite memory of playing Cuphead on the Nintendo Switch. Those who are selected will get a Direct Message throughout the week; needless to say, the perfect chance to share the code with a friend or family member.
Cuphead is a classic run-and-gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
Cuphead is currently available for the Xbox One Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows 10(Steam, GOG).
