Since June of this year, rumours about a new entry in the Need for Speed series being developed by Criterion Games and Electronic Arts started doing the rounds, with many sources pointing to this game actually being a remaster of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
Of course, the developer didn't confirm nor deny the rumours, but more evidence began to surface, until Electronic Arts officially began teasing something last week. The developer shared some images that featured the "510" number, which many fans of the series believed to be the date in which the game would be officially revealed: the 5th of October.
Well, it turns out that the rumours were true, as Electronic Arts and Criterion Games have officially announced Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, with a trailer that sees a man obsessed with this "510" number, which is actually rather hilarious, as all the signs point to this new Need for Speed game being real.
As per the announcement trailer, Electronic Arts and Criterion confirm that Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will be launching on Friday the 6th of November for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC(Origin, Steam).
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will be featuring all of the original game's DLC, while also featuring cross-platform multiplayer and autoblog — fitting considering that Need for Speed Heat became EA's first game to feature cross-play — and enhanced visuals; as expected from any self-respecting remaster.
Electronic Arts also reveals that pre-orders for Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered are currently open, and you can pre-order your copy today on the game's official website, which you can easily visit by clicking right here.
