New information spotted by Twitter user @Wario64 has revealed that a brand-new Kirby Fighters title is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch. What's funny about this is that Nintendo has not made any official announcements about this alleged Kirby Fighters 2.
As a matter of fact, this information was seemingly gathered from Nintendo's official website, but it has since been removed, so it is still best to consider this information as a rumour. With that said, it was probably a slip up, and Nintendo did reveal the game accidentally.
The original Kirby Fighters was actually one of the extra modes featured in Kirby: Triple Deluxe that released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014, but it was eventually made into an official video game — with additional content, of course — and released on the portable console's eShop later that year.
Kirby Fighters Deluxe is a fighting game that sees players slecting Kirby as their main fighter(yes, all of them Kirby) and fighting each other making use of the Puffball's copy ability; all abilities from Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Considering that neither Nintendo nor HAL Laboratory have made the announcement official, we will have to keep waiting until this alleged Kirby Fighters 2 is confirmed. Interestingly enough, we also have a synopsis for the unannounced title, which reads as follows:
Choose from a cast of Kirby's most iconic copy abilities—including the brand-new Wrestler ability—and duke it out to be the last Kirby standing. Familiar friends and foes like Bandana Waddle Dee and King Dedede also make an appearance as playable characters in the Kirby Fighters 2 game, available exclusively for the Nintendo SwitchTM system.
